BMW Group car sales in H1 grows 5%, motorcycle sales up 50%

BMW Group India today announced that it has posted record sales in the first half of 2023. The company sold a total of 5,867 cars and motorcycles, up 5% from the same period last year.

The growth was driven by strong sales of BMW-branded vehicles, which rose 6% to 5,476 units. The MINI brand also performed well, with sales up 25% to 391 units.

The BMW X1 was the best-selling model in the first half of the year, with sales of 1,424 units. The BMW X5 and BMW 3 Series were also strong performers, with sales of 1,085 units and 1,016 units, respectively.

The BMW Motorrad brand also had a strong first half of the year, with sales up 50% to 4,667 units. The BMW R 1250 GS was the best-selling motorcycle, with sales of 1,176 units

"We are very pleased with the strong sales performance in the first half of the year," said Vikram Pawah, President of BMW Group India. "This is a testament to the popularity of our products and the growing demand for luxury cars and motorcycles in India."

Pawar said that the company is confident of maintaining the momentum in the second half of the year. "We have a strong line-up of new products planned for launch in the coming months, and we are confident that these will further boost our sales," he said.
