Akshara Centre is looking for a passionate and committed Program Officer to implement youth-focused gender programs in Mumbai. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in grassroots-level engagement, has experience in gender sensitization and training, and is eager to make a difference in the lives of underprivileged youth.
1. Program Implementation
Mobilize youth through partnerships with Mumbai colleges
Inspire and engage young people as Gender Advocates
Develop strategies to build youth-led communities
Organize training sessions on Gender Equality, Masculinity, and Active Citizenship
2. Documentation & Reporting
Draft concise activity reports and success stories
Maintain and organize program data using Excel
3. Youth Communication & Engagement
Curate relevant youth-centric messages and videos
Create and manage WhatsApp groups to share program information
Graduate in Social Work or Social Sciences
Minimum 1 year of experience in conducting training programs and managing youth projects
Strong communication in Marathi and/or Hindi and English
Excellent writing skills in English
Proficient in MS Excel and internet research
Passionate about social change, gender justice, and youth empowerment
