HelpAge India is a reputed charity known for its pioneering work in support of the disadvantaged elderly. Our work has benefited over 8 million elderly and our programmes cater to more than 1.5 million older people every year. We work in the areas of health care, livelihood support, residential care, disaster mitigation, social security and rights of poor elderly. The funding for the programmes is largely indigenous and raised from individual, institutional and corporate donors. We also advocate for formation of policy related to the elderly. HelpAge India has worked for over 45 years in India. We have been awarded highest CRISIL VO 1A grading for excellence in operations and high credibility. HelpAge India has secured a multi-year project grant from a large institution-based philanthropy in India to implement a comprehensive district level ecosystem-based intervention which looks at comprehensively addressing the needs of the elderly from a care, health and social support perspective. The project will span 3 states namely MP, Odisha & Uttarakhand. this project would need community-based project implementation with significant liaisioning & coordination with multi stakeholders who will range from HelpAge’s internal staffs, Donor’s team, state govt and community-based organisations.
We are now looking for suitable candidates for the position National Finance Manager. The position is based at Head Office, Delhi, The Project Finance Managerwouldbethenational finance coordinator for the project. S/he will oversee the smooth finance management of the project across the 3 states. This position will create budget task lines, uploading of the budget and regular monitoring of the same ensuringthattheyareprogressinginaccordancewiththe project objectives and outcomes andcomplyingwithinternal and donor’s procedures & requirements. S/he would be responsible for ensuring the statutory compliances (of HelpAge and the donor), financial agreements and follow up with donor for fund disbursement and submission of regular utilization details. The position will report to National Programme Manager through Finance Controller.
KeyResponsibilityAreas:
Finance Management:
Carry out activity-based budgeting as per the Project Implementation Planning (PIP), and develop detailed taskline along with regular monitoring & reporting plan, upload it in the online financial MIS
Track budget utilization as per pre-defined and agreed KPIs to ensure proportionate and optimal fund.
Ensure that the project expenses, advances along with bills and vouchers are regularly entered in to the online MIS along with submission of hard copies timely by the project staffs
To work as a liaison, point for coordinating and solving issues of the project team with regards to finance and expense submission.
Ensure financial reporting regularly on the online MIS of the donor on a regular basis
Support the state team and project team and HO Agecare Team in complete financial management & reporting for the project
Collaboration and Liaisioning:
Liaise with support departments at HelpAge’s head office namely HR, procurement, and admin in ensuring that the financial operations and management proceed smoothly as per the finance and respective dept’s SOP
Ensure regular reporting and submission on expenses and UCs on a regular basis and timely from the partners
Ensure vendor payment and settlement timely in coordination with Procurement’
Work in close conjunction with the donor finance team to ensure that the financial management is in sync with their programmatic & statutory requirements
Reporting & Documentation:
To ensure timely reporting of financial update as per the formats suggested by the donor on their online MIS
To appraise and keep the project team update on the status of budget vs. spend and support the project team in updating / reviewing of the budget with donor approval
Be the focal point of documenting all approval, communications and guidelines from donor to ensure following of all processes and compliance

Minimum 8 years in financial management in social sector & related field-based organisation with a minimum of 5 years in direct finance management of large national level community level project implementation ShouldhaveB.Com / M.Com , CA ( Inter) with rich experience of project finance management
Adept and expertise in managing large national level community centered project and aware of the complexity associated with such initiative with multi stakeholders’ engagement
Keeping the organization’s vision and values at the forefront of associated decision-making and action.
Should be well versed with ERP and expert knowledge of Excel & MS packages
Emoluments will be commensurate with skills and in line with those in the sector
