Early life and education: Alpesh Thakor was born on 22 October 1980 in Radhanpur, Gujarat. He is a member of the Koli community, which is a large OBC community in Gujarat. Thakor studied at the Government Science College in Ahmedabad and then went on to do his MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad.

Political career: Thakor started his political career as a social worker and activist. He founded the Gujarat Kshatriya Thakor Sena as well as OBC, SC, ST Ekta Manch (OBC, SC, ST unity forum), a social platform to demand reservations for people of the respective communities.
Patidar reservation agitation: In 2015, Thakor became one of the leaders of the Patidar reservation agitation, a movement that demanded reservation for the Patidar community in government jobs and education. The agitation was met with widespread protests and violence, and Thakor was arrested several times.
Congress and BJP: In 2017, Thakor joined the Indian National Congress party. He contested and won from Radhanpur constituency in the 2017 Gujarat Legislative Assembly election. However, he quit the Congress in 2019 and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party.
Current status: Thakor is currently a member of the Gujarat Legislative Assembly from Gandhinagar South. He is also the President of the Gujarat Kshatriya Thakor Sena.
Thakor is a controversial figure, but he is also a popular one. He is seen by many as a champion of the marginalized and oppressed, and his work has helped to bring about social change in Gujarat.
