Ahmedabad: A major accident took place during the Rath Yatra in Ahmedabad. Several people were injured when the balcony of a house broke during the passing of the Rath Yatra. Actually people were standing in the balcony of the building watching the Rath Yatra. Meanwhile, suddenly the balcony of the third floor fell down. Children and women were also standing in the balcony at the time of the accident. They did not get a chance to recover from the sudden accident and all fell down with the debris. At the same time, it is being told that the debris of the building fell on the people standing below, due to which people suffered serious injuries. 10 to 15 people are said to be injured in the accident.
The accident happened near Dariapur Kadia Naka in Ahmedabad where a slab of a building collapsed. 10 to 15 people were injured in the slab breaking incident. In a hurry, all the injured were taken to the nearest hospital for treatment. At present the relief work is going on. Also, there has been no disturbance in the Rath Yatra.
Two children were also included in the injured.
People watching the Rath Yatra from the floor below were also hurt when the balcony of the third floor fell. The incident took place when the yatra was about to end after a few kilometres. According to the information received, the injured include 2 children, 3 women and 6 men. All the injured have been referred to the Civil Hospital. The team reached the spot with 2 fire engines and the trapped people are being evacuated.

Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation team reached the spot after the visor of the house at Kadianaka broke down, evacuated the spot and pasted a notice on the house. Eyewitnesses present near the house at the time of the incident told about the action taken by the municipal officials.
