About Room to Read Room to Read is a global organization transforming the lives of millions of children in low-income communities by focusing on literacy and gender equality in education. Founded in 2000 on the belief that World Change Starts with Educated Children®, our innovative model focuses on deep, systemic transformation within schools during two time periods that are most critical in a child’s schooling: early primary school for literacy acquisition and secondary school for girls’ education. We work in collaboration with local communities, partner organizations, and governments to develop literacy skills and a habit of reading among primary school children and ensure girls can complete secondary school with the skills necessary to negotiate key life decisions.

By focusing on the quality of education provided within the communities and ensuring these outcomes are measured, we have created a model that can be replicated, localized, and sustained by governments. With its global headquarters in San Francisco, Room to Read till date has benefited 32 million children across 21 low-income countries.

Room to Read India was established in 2003 and presently has programs in twelve states – Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Delhi NCR, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Telangana, Uttarakhand, and Uttar Pradesh.

HR Onboarding Process:

Managing the whole onboarding process, ensuring that all pre and post-employment processes and forms were completed accurately and within time frame.

Ensuring compliance with all process and always maintain confidentiality.

Welcoming newly hired employees and introduce them with other RTR Staff. Ensuring a great experience for new employees and a smooth start into their roles.

Gathering and filing all paperwork related to new hires, including contracts, non-disclosure agreement and Maintaining database and folder related to new joiners.

Uploading of employee’s documents on Workday (HRMS).

Managing new Joinees background verification. Coordinate and communicated with BGV vendor and maintain related database.

Preparing welcome email of new joiners.

Identifying innovative and creative new ways to onboard new employees/reach a more scalable and measurable onboarding experience.

Searching and headhunting: Shall explore prospective candidates from sources, and/or by headhunting to match the skills and qualifications required by the specific job description. Undertake labour market analysis, tap networks of professional affiliations, and leverage social media and other non-traditional methods of candidate sourcing.

Screening: Analyse profiles received through applications or other sources and identify the ones who match the position profile.

Shortlisting: Shall then share a shortlist of a maximum of seven of the most qualified prospective candidates to Room to Read for Panel interview and selection. If any of the shortlisted candidates do not meet the hiring managers’ expectations, room to Read shall ask for additional candidates to be added to the shortlist.

Coordinating with the Panel: Coordination with panel members for their availability for scheduling interview and for the feedback of the Interview and then scheduling further round of interviews of the selected candidates.

Scheduling Interviews: Coordinating with the candidates for scheduling their interview with panel after taking Preliminary interview.

Hiring of selected candidates: On recommendation of panel members, Initiate hiring process of selected candidates and do offer negotiation.

Any other job assigned by the supervisor other than mentioned above.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree with 1-3 years professional experience in handing HR onboarding and recruitment.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Excellent computer skills
