IT Consultant

We are seeking a dynamic, and self-motivated professional with excellent organizational and people skills for the position of IT Consultant.
The main responsibilities of this position will be:
Diagnosing and resolving escalated problems in response to IT users reported incidents.
Research, evaluate, and provide feedback on problematic trends and patterns in IT users support requirements.
Educating coworkers about network security and best practices for computer usage.
Utilize a ticketing system to log and track support requests, ensuring accurate and up-to-date documentation of incidents and resolutions.
Install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain IT users' hardware and software.
Analyze network load in Regional Office IT Infrastructure.
Monitor network capacity and performance.
Execute activities as assigned by immediate supervisor.
We are seeking candidates with the following qualification, skills and attitudes:
Experience:
At least 4 years of experience in IT support or a related field.
Experience in diagnosing and resolving escalated problems in response to IT users reported incidents.
Experience in monitoring and troubleshooting network connectivity and resolving network problems.
Familiarity with institutional information technology support policies and procedures.
Skill Sets:
Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in Windows operating systems is required. Knowledge of macOS and Linux will be considered an additional advantage. Familiarity with office productivity software is also expected.
Knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and network troubleshooting tools.
Familiarity with hardware and software installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
Understanding of network security principles and best practices.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for educating coworkers and providing support.
Strong organizational skills for managing inventory and coordinating support activities

Technical expertise: Possesses a deep understanding of IT systems, networks, and hardware/software components to effectively diagnose and resolve issues.
Analytical thinking: Can analyze problematic trends and patterns in IT support requirements, identify root causes, and propose effective solutions.

Adaptability: adapts to changing technologies, processes, and procedures, staying up to date with the latest industry trends and best practices.
Collaboration: Works well in a team environment, collaborating with system administrators, application administrators, and other stakeholders to deliver efficient IT services.
Documentation and reporting: Maintains accurate and up-to-date records of support activities, incidents, and resolutions, and provides regular reports to management.
The position is for an initial fixed-term contract of 1 year, after which further employment is subject to performance and the continued availability of funds.
