Since 2016, SNEHA has directly reached over 620,555 women, children, and healthcare workers, and indirectly impacted 3.63 million people across Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR). With a team of 500+ professionals, SNEHA has a strong track record in reducing maternal and neonatal mortality, child malnutrition, adolescent anaemia, and gender-based violence.
The MCH - AAHAR Program focuses on:
Reducing malnutrition and maternal anaemia
Improving maternal and child health services
Enhancing referral services for gender-based violence (GBV)
Equipping Anganwadi workers with training for better ICDS service delivery
Sustaining community participation and action through volunteers
Mentoring frontline workers (FLWs) for improved outreach
The program aims to empower communities to demand better services and act as catalysts for sustained change.

Designation: Program Officer
Reports to: Program Coordinator
Educational Qualification: Graduation (full-time course)
Experience: Minimum 4 years in community development in at least two areas: maternal & child health, family planning, or working with government social welfare departments
Location: BNMC, Bhiwandi (willingness to travel within Mumbai, Maharashtra, and India for exposure visits)
Plan and organize large-scale community mobilization events and campaigns
Conduct training sessions for health post staff and support PCs in maternity home and hospital staff training
Maintain documentation of activities, trainings, and reports for funders and officials
Assist in referral meetings and support establishing linkages between health posts and maternity homes
Build capacity of community organizers, health committees, and link workers
Supervise and monitor field teams and ensure timely reporting
Ensure accurate data collection and entry into the CommCare application
Collect daily reports from community organizers
Manage photos and documentation of events and activities
Cross-check data collected from the field for accuracy
Familiarity with government systems, ministries, and informal settlements in Mumbai
Fluency in English, Hindi, and Marathi
Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Strong interest in maternal & child health, nutrition, and community development
Self-motivated and able to work independently
Training experience in maternal and child health and government schemes
Strong documentation and data analysis skills
Effective community mobilization and negotiation abilities
Ability to manage role boundaries and community/system issues
Flexible time management skills
