In a major announcement ahead of Raksha Bandhan 2025, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has declared that the monthly financial aid under the Ladli Behna Yojana will be increased. Currently at ?1,250, the CM said the amount will gradually be hiked to ?3,000 per month over the next five years, providing a significant boost to women empowerment in Madhya Pradesh.
The Ladli Behna Yojana, a flagship scheme launched to support economically weaker women, especially in rural areas, is set to get more impactful. CM Yadav stated that the increase will begin this Rakshabandhan, showing the government’s commitment to the financial independence and dignity of women.
Current Amount: ?1,250/month
Target Amount: ?3,000/month (in 5 years)
“This Rakshabandhan, we will strengthen our commitment to our sisters by increasing the Ladli Behna aid,” said the CM at a public gathering in Jabalpur.
Alongside the Ladli Behna update, the CM unveiled the Gomukh Reservoir Project worth ?1,400 crore, aimed at revolutionizing irrigation infrastructure in Jabalpur and Mandla districts.
Irrigation Coverage:
14,900 hectares in Jabalpur
10,100 hectares in Mandla
Total Beneficiaries: 25,000+ farmers
This major investment is expected to increase agricultural productivity and enhance farmer income across the region.
CM Yadav also praised the growing development in the education sector of Madhya Pradesh. Two CM Rise schools, renamed as Sandipani Schools, have gained global acclaim:

He added that government school students outperformed their private school counterparts in Class 10 and 12 board results, a sign of effective public education reform.
The CM paid homage to Rani Durgavati of Gondwana, recalling her courage and contributions to water conservation. He emphasized his government’s dedication to tribal development through the establishment of ITI centers and modern schools in underserved areas.

The CM also celebrated PM Narendra Modi’s 11 years in office (as of June 9, 2025), stating that the state's achievements in youth development, poverty alleviation, women empowerment, and agriculture reflect PM Modi’s leadership.
He highlighted the recent inauguration of a new railway bridge over the Chinour river by the Prime Minister.
