Ahmedabad Plane Crash: Heartbreaking Farewell for MBBS Student Jaiprakash, Collector Tina Dabi in Tears

Barmer/Ahmedabad, June 14, 2025:
Thousands gathered in Barmer district’s Bor Charanan village on Friday to bid an emotional final farewell to 20-year-old MBBS student Jaiprakash Jat, who tragically lost his life in the devastating Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad. The atmosphere was deeply sorrowful, with Barmer Collector Tina Dabi and Superintendent of Police Narendra Singh Meena present among other officials and local leaders.

Tears and Tributes

As soon as Jaiprakash’s body arrived in the village, wails of grief filled the air. Every eye was moist, every heart heavy. SP Meena shouldered the body during the funeral procession, and Collector Tina Dabi broke down in tears, wiping them repeatedly while offering her folded-hands tribute.

Chief Minister Expresses Condolences

Before the body reached the village, SP Meena arranged a phone call between Rajasthan CM Bhajanlal Sharma and Jaiprakash’s father. The Chief Minister extended his condolences and assured all possible support from the government.

How the Tragedy Happened

Jaiprakash was pursuing his second year of MBBS studies in Ahmedabad. At the time of the crash, he was having a meal in the hostel mess when an Air India plane crashed into the hostel. His body was 30% burned and debris from the wall collapsed on him, causing his death. After receiving the heartbreaking news, his family rushed from Barmer to Ahmedabad, collected the body, and returned home for the last rites around 5 PM.

Widespread Grief

Local BJP President Anantaram Vishnoi and SP Meena both acknowledged that Jaiprakash was a bright and promising student. His untimely demise has not only shaken his family but left the entire region in mourning.

This tragedy raises serious concerns – Are our cities prepared to handle such emergencies? And are we doing enough to protect our students?

Rest in peace, Jaiprakash. Your dreams and memories will live on forever.
