To receive the 20th installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme, farmers in Muzaffarpur must complete mandatory registration. The initiative aims to streamline access to government benefits and ensure transparency by digitizing the registration process.
Highlights
-
Registration made compulsory to receive PM-KISAN benefits
-
Over 21,309 farmers already registered
-
Permanent registration number will simplify future access to schemes
-
Document verification and e-KYC made digital for efficiency
Registration Campaign Details
The Muzaffarpur district administration has identified approximately 7.52 lakh farmers across 1,125 revenue villages. These are primarily land-owning farmers whose names appear in the official land records.
As part of the registration campaign, special camps are being organized in villages where both the Agriculture and Revenue Departments are jointly assisting farmers with digital registration.
According to District Agriculture Officer Sudhir Kumar, District Magistrate Subrat Kumar Sen is personally monitoring the initiative to ensure maximum coverage and smooth implementation.
What Happens if You Don’t Register?
Farmers who fail to register will not be eligible to receive the upcoming 20th installment of the PM-KISAN scheme. This makes timely registration crucial for continued benefit from the scheme.
Permanent Registration Number for Farmers
After successful registration, each farmer will be provided with a unique permanent registration number. This number will:
-
Help farmers access any government scheme without repeated paperwork
-
Allow easy verification in bank-related processes
-
Offer one-click access to the farmer’s digital records
Documents Required for Registration
Farmers attending the registration camps must carry the following documents:
-
Aadhaar Card (linked with a valid mobile number)
-
Land ownership documents (such as Jamabandi or property proof)
-
Bank account details
-
Passport-sized photograph (if asked)
Purpose Behind the Initiative
The government’s focus is on increasing farmer income, reducing agricultural costs, and eliminating middlemen. By making digital registration mandatory, the process becomes more transparent and efficient. Farmers will be directly linked to all welfare schemes through a centralized system.
Final Reminder
All eligible farmers are advised to visit the nearest Panchayat-level registration camp and complete the process without delay. Failure to do so will result in exclusion from the next PM-KISAN installment and other related benefits.
