About the Opportunity:

SCMS invites proposals from professional agencies to conduct a comprehensive Skill Gap Study (2025–30) and develop a Strategic Skill Plan for India’s mining sector.

The study will guide future workforce development, align with the National Critical Mineral Mission, and ensure India’s mining industry is ready for 2047.


Study Objectives:

  •  District-wise Skill Mapping

  •  Identification of emerging job roles

  •  Strategy to bridge skill gaps

  •  Analysis of training methods (online vs physical)

  •  Entrepreneurial potential in mining

  •  Projections of manpower till 2047


Scope Includes:

  • Exploration, extraction, urban & deep-sea mining

  • Reserve estimation, ore processing, coal washeries

  • Mining services (transport, safety, environment)

  • Alignment with National Missions (Green Hydrogen, Semiconductor, AI in Mining, Solar, etc.)


Expected Deliverables:

  • Skill Gap Report (2025–30) with future projections

  • Skill Development Plan: roadmap for training, certification, and job creation


Key Stakeholders:

  • Central & state ministries (Mines, Steel, Coal, etc.)

  • Mining corporations & OEMs

  • R&D institutes (IITs, CSIR, NIRM, etc.)

  • Training partners, ITIs, NGOs, and state departments
