Job Title: Senior Manager - Program

Reports to: Head – Program Implementation

Job Overview:

As a Senior Program Manager at United Way of Chennai you will be responsible for the planning, development and management of a diverse range of programs with focus on social impact and will be responsible for effective implementation of United Way of Chennai of programs in the assigned geography/area/s, in collaboration with the field team.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Understand project objectives, scope and impact outcomes in discussion with the fundraising team.

• Work with the project managers and community/beneficiaries to plan, execute and achieve desired outcomes.

• Collaborate with program teams to ensure effective implementation of program deliverables

• Develop and execute sound program management approach that includes building capacity of field teams, timely monitoring, financial oversight.

• Coordinate with multiple stakeholders to enhance quality and effectiveness of program interventions. Oversee the detailed project schedule and work plan and ensure adherence to timelines.

• Ensure compliance with donor requirements in terms of project milestones, reporting and project financials.

• Provide inputs for preparation of project documents and report writing.

• Measure project performance to identify areas for improvement, risks and take corrective measures accordingly.

• Work in tandem with the monitoring and evaluation team to capture project outcomes and progress on impact indicators.

• Work with consultants/ subject matter experts when required and gain expertise on project areas.

• Collaborate with multiple NGO partners when required.

• Groom Project managers and help with their self-development.

Qualifications of Senior project manager:

• Master's degree in social work/Sociology (Community Development) or a related field.

• 10 years of project management and related experience.

• Experience in implementing projects with the ability to effectively coordinate with multiple stakeholders.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Organized, team player, self-starter, and results-oriented individual.

• Demonstrated experience in capacity building of staff including training, mentoring, and technical leadership.

• Experience seeing projects through the full life cycle.

• Excellent analytical and conflict management skills.

• Candidates should have good proficiency in English & Tamil.
