Job Details:
Survivors coming from a background of neglect, abuse and exploitation carry with them unsurmountable level of complex trauma, and need someone to handhold them in their journey of healing and help them address the trauma and realize their full potential. We are looking for a counsellor who is trauma informed, empathetic and willing to work in a challenging sector.
Roles and Responsibilities:
-- Establishing positive and trusting environments with survivors of trafficking and sexual abuse.
-- Creating tailor made intervention plans for survivors.
-- Participating in rescues and post rescue.
-- Identifying and conducting risk assessments with emotionally unsafe survivors.
-- Providing immediate emotional support to survivors whenever needed.
-- Collaborating and coordinating with social workers for therapeutic insights in the individual care plan.
-- Monitor on-going programs in the shelter homes. Prepare and submit analytical reports on Pre and Final assessment of the survivors during therapeutic sessions.
-- Collaborating with social workers for conducting home enquiries.
-- Conducting timely psychological assessments with the survivors and submission of internal reports.
-- Thorough documentation of all assessments, meetings and sessions.
-- Engaging with stakeholders and having trauma informed case discussions with them.
Education & Experience:
1. Masters in Psychology (Counselling Psychology preferred)
2. 1 to 3 years of experience.
3. Being trauma informed is preferred.
4. Working knowledge of TFCBT, CBT, Arts based approaches, and Movement based approaches preferred.
5. Languages preferred: English, Hindi, Bengali/Kannada/Marathi
6. Knowledge about group counseling and group activities with survivors
