Language and Learning Foundation (www.languageandlearningfoundation.org) is a New Delhi-based non-profit organization with the vision of enhancing equitable student learning, especially language and literacy development, through the professional development of teachers and teacher educators, building/sharing knowledge, and implementing projects in collaboration with state governments. LLF currently works with 7 state governments across the country.
Position summary:
The position is responsible for management of local and international grants received by LLF, ensuring monitoring and review of project’s budgets and cash flows, financial review of the project’s and facilitating project’s’ financial audits. The position is also responsible for accurate financial reporting, leading budgeting for the development of new grant proposals, and capacity building of the team members for meeting the financial standards and compliance requirements.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Funds Processing and Utilization
-To oversee and monitor the processing of fund requests by project’s and ensure that all the requests are within approved fund limits.
-To ensure timely processing and disbursal of funds to the project’s by the Accounts team
Financial Monitoring and Review
-To ensure monitoring and review of project’s budgets and cash flows
-To conduct financial review of project’s for respective projects
-To support Director – Finance in implementation of cost control measures
-To oversee the closing of project’s accounts at the end of the grants project
Financial Management
-To lead financial planning, monitoring and reporting of grant projects.
-To provide suggestions for development of various financial processes in line with the organisational needs and ensure their alignment with the LLF’s accounting standards.
-To prepare accurate financial reports for the grant projects for effective donor reporting.
-To establish and monitor a risk management framework for LLF.
Capacity Building
-To ensure capacity building of the project’s ’ finance team for meeting the financial compliance requirements for the projects managed.
-To address the skill development needs of the team members and lead capacity building for the team to ensure efficient financial management
Inter- Department Liaisoning and Support
-To provide financial inputs to the Fundraising and Marketing team for proposal development
-To ensure that the Program Associates provide required support to the Programme Implementation team at State Offices for detailed budgeting.
Compliance & Audits
-To ensure adherence to the statutory compliances across all the financial processes in the organization.
-To ensure that all the project’s meet the financial statutory compliances, including HR and Legal compliances.
-To coordinate and manage statutory and internal audits.
-To facilitate audit of project’s.
Team Management
-To strengthen inter-team communication, engender good team dynamics and resolve internal issues as required.
-To conduct performance appraisal of the team members.
**Any other work assigned by the Director will be also part of the JD.
Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities:
-Referable CA (preferred), or Post-Graduation degree in Accounts
-10+ years of experience in grant management, accounts and auditing and financial management.
-The reasonable knowledge of Tally ERP 9
-Deep knowledge and understanding of financial management .
-Has a good team spirit and positive attitude. Enjoys a varied pace of working and copes well under pressure.
-High proficiency in writing and speaking of English.
