Responsibilities
Planning and Conducting Counselling Sessions
Organizing and conducting team meetings to create clear individual plans, and conduct goal-oriented sessions with each child once in every week.
Develop and regularly assess rehabilitation service plan and progress through program observation and team meetings in order to reach decision
The counselor should inform the Probation Officer/case worker/CWO and in case the child shows symptoms of any psychological ailment/condition and a decision on the next course of action should be taken by the Superintendent/Person-in-charge with the requisite approvals from the Board/Children‘s Court.
Record clear documentation with the summary and key highlights of each counseling session should be documented in the child‘s case file.
The counselor should give inputs to the Probation Officer/CWO/case worker for each child receiving counsel or as required—periodic reports to the Board/Children‘s Court, while updating the case file, for modification of ICP.
Undertake group therapy sessions with the peer support groups.
Ensure that participation in peer support groups should be voluntary for the children in the CCI. Plan therapies and sessions after conducting assessments through tools and observations in natural settings of the child
Organize special counseling sessions for repeat offenders, follow up and referral to psychiatrist or mental health specialist if need be.
Produce reports and stories of the sessions
Provide technical support to the project team in conducting producing various monitoring and evaluation
Brainstorm around the opportunities for collaborations with our therapist and hospitals
Create and updating database of contacts and deliverables for the donors and projects
Ideate and implement multi-stakeholders mental health programs across all interventions of Bal Ashram Trust.
Qualifications
Educational qualification: Master’s Degree in Counseling, Psychology, Child Development, or Social Work.
Certification from organizations like NIPCCD and RCI- Preferable
At least 3- 5 years of relevant work experience or Ph.D. in the desired field.
Experience of working in a hospital or clinical settings, community setting.
Experience of working with CNCPs- Preferable.
Experience of working in sector of child labour, gender, education, child development will be an advantage.
Effective training skills; excellent communication skills and documentation.
Team work with the Coordinators, other Counselors and Clinical Psychologists of the program
