Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced HR Manager to ensure that SMGC’s human resource program and initiatives are effective, efficient, and aligned to overall organization goals and objectives.
The exceptional HR Manager should strengthen the HR processes, implement strategies that support organization growth, improve morale and employee retention, enhance safety and wellness, strengthen relations between staff and employers, manage job satisfaction, attract the best recruits, and promote the organization's values.
Principal Accountabilities:
HR Support
Work with the leadership team to understand and execute the organization’s human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.
Collaborate and consult with different teams within the organization and build processes ensuring alignment, and compliance with legal and/donor requirements.
Follow and ensure adherence to relevant internal and legal procedures
Develop leadership strategies for staff work plans, performance management, talent development, remuneration, and industrial relations.
Develop and maintain HR dashboard. This includes sharing monthly reports for recruitment, employee turnover, demographics, and other HR analytics.
Recruitment and Hiring:
Work with hiring managers in ensuring that the job descriptions are developed for new positions and reviewed / revised for ongoing positions as required. Ensure that each role is mapped out according to the job framework and pay structure.
Manage the talent acquisition process including recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified job applicants, for overall hiring.
Prepare strong processes and procedures for conducting due diligence and checks on academic qualifications, references, etc. on selected candidates.
Conduct exit and stay interviews, focus group discussions, and partner with people managers in ensuring employee engagement of staff.
Ensuring talent acquisition by preparing the key result area, key performance indicator aligned with the job description of the position in consultation to the Head of the department.
Ensure that the SMGC 360 performance management system is established and implemented for all pan India staff.
Create a holistic management framework to ensure effective nurturing of critical organization skills, and experienced staff.
Prepare and roll out learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees.
Work closely with different teams to determine appropriate training and development interventions, as well as ensure alignment of talent inventory and succession planning.
Compensation and Benefits:-
Analyzes trends in compensation and benefits; researches and proposes competitive compensation structure and benefit programs to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent.
Implement and ensure proper systems of staff payroll for all staff across the country. Provide all payroll documents relevant to staff on an ongoing basis.
Ensure all statutory deductions and payments are made as per the due dates.
Employee Relations
Oversee employee grievance redressal and disciplinary proceedings, and any cessation of employment process.
Maintain compliance with all labor laws and regulations and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
Handle Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) and compliance to legal requirements.
The candidate must be/have:
BSc/BA in human resources, business administration or relevant field; MSc/MA in human resources will be a plus
10 + years of relevant work experience acquired in positions relevant to the job description;
Foundation or civil society organization’s experience would be an advantage
In-depth knowledge and experience of Human Resource operations and legal regulations
Impeccable communication, interpersonal and leadership skills
Strong analytical and project management skills
High work ethic, knowledge of labor regulations and HR practices, strategic thinking abilities, and strong organizational skills
