RESPONSIBILITIES:
The PR, Social Media & Outreach Coordinator will undertake the following key responsibilities:?
A. Public Relations:
1. Assist the YBS Advisory Board and Program Lead for YBS Tech-Sec with the development of an annual Public Relations strategy and budget.
2. Implement the strategy to increase awareness and generate positive media coverage for the Yashraj Bharati Samman.
3. Cultivate and maintain relationships with media outlets, journalists, bloggers, and influencers to secure press coverage and feature articles.
4. Also cultivate relationships with academicians, researchers and field workers from the social sector to generate more in-depth content for the website.
5. Draft press releases, media kits, and other communication materials, ensuring accurate and compelling messaging.
6. Organise and coordinate press conferences, media interviews, and media coverage at events, handling logistics and managing media interactions.
7. Monitor media coverage and compile press clippings, creating reports to assess the effectiveness of PR efforts.
8. Assist in crisis communication management, providing timely and appropriate responses to any issues or controversies.
B. Social Media Management:
1. Assist the YBS Advisory Board and Program Lead for YBS Tech-Sec with the development of an annual Social Media strategy and budget to promote YBS across various platforms, including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and LinkedIn.
2. Curate the annual calendar for social media events
3. Create and curate high-quality content that aligns with the organisation's brand and values, driving audience engagement and building a strong online presence.
4. Plan, schedule, and publish social media posts, ensuring consistency and regular updates.
5. Monitor and respond to comments, messages, and inquiries from followers and the general audience in a timely and professional manner.
6. Collaborate with the YBS Advisory Board and Program Lead for YBS Tech-Sec to develop and implement social media campaigns (organic and paid), maximising reach and engagement.
7. Track and analyse social media metrics to measure the effectiveness of campaigns and identify areas for improvement and/or further engagement.
C. Outreach Management:
1. Assist the YBS Advisory Board and Program Lead for YBS Tech-Sec with the development of an annual Outreach strategy and budget to engage target audiences and increase awareness about YBS
2. Identify and establish partnerships with relevant community organisations, schools, businesses, and other stakeholders to enhance outreach efforts and expand our reach
3. Coordinate with collaborators working with us under various outreach programs
4. Assist Program Lead for YBS Tech-Sec and planning and coordinating outreach events
5. Conduct research and analysis to identify target demographics, trends, and best practices for outreach strategies, and adjust approaches accordingly
6. Track and report on outreach activities, including attendance, feedback, and outcomes, to evaluate the effectiveness of initiatives and inform future strategies
D. Collaboration and Communication:
1. Collaborate with the YBS Advisory Board, Yashraj Research Foundation and Program Lead for YBS Tech-Sec to ensure PR, social media and outreach efforts are aligned with the our objectives and overall marketing strategy.
2. Liaise with intellectuals, industry professionals, and stakeholders to secure endorsements, partnerships, and promotional opportunities.
3. Liaise with the teams of dignitaries, development partners and Samman recipients for events and other promotional activity.
4. Coordinate with graphic designers, photographers, and videographers to create visually appealing content for social media and PR materials, if required.
5. Assist with event planning and execution, providing support as required during the YBS Gratitude Ceremony and any other event.
6. All other activities to make the Samman a stronger and better initiative.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
A. Education
Bachelor's degree in public relations, communications, marketing, or a related field or higher degree
B. Preferred Experience
1. A minimum of 3 years’ experience implementing and managing PR, social media or outreach
2. Prior experience working with development and social sector organisations
3. Experience in organising events both online & offline.
C. Skills & Competencies
1. Proficiency in using social media platforms and management tools.
2, Graphic design skills and familiarity with publication software such as Canva and/or Adobe InDesign.
3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Hindi, with the ability to create compelling and persuasive content. Any additional regional languages is a plus.
4. Experience in drafting press releases, media kits, and other PR materials.
5. Familiarity with media relations practices, including building relationships with journalists and securing media coverage.
6. Creativity and an eye for design and visual aesthetics.
7. Ability to plan, execute and manage event and post-event requirements.
8. Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
9. Proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
10. Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
