ack Floodwaters from overflowing Yamuna reach Delhi Metro station, train tracks waterlogged
details

Floodwaters from the overflowing Yamuna River reached the Yamuna Bank Metro station in Delhi on Thursday, forcing the DMRC to close the entry and exit points to the station.

The DMRC said that the interchange facility at the station is still available and services on the Blue Line are running normally. However, commuters were advised to plan their journey accordingly and consider alternate routes.

The water levels in the Yamuna River have been rising steadily in recent days due to heavy rains in the catchment areas of the river. The river is currently flowing at 206.39 meters, which is just 0.61 meters below the danger mark of 207 meters.

The flooding has also affected traffic in several parts of Delhi. Key roads in the national capital, including the Ring Road near ITO, GT Karnal road, and Old Yamuna bridge, have been flooded.

The Delhi Traffic Police has advised commuters to avoid these roads and take alternate routes.

The flooding has also caused waterlogging in several low-lying areas in Delhi. The areas affected by waterlogging include Chandgiram Akhada on ISBT road, Nigam Bodh Ghat road, Indira Gandhi Stadium road, and low-lying areas near Kashmiri gate.

The Delhi government has deployed teams of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) to assist in the relief and rescue operations.
